Kwese Sports ink rights deal for Uefa games
Econet Media's sports content platform, Kwese Sports, has signed a four-year deal with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to broadcast the UEFA Euro 2020, as well as the preceding qualifiers, in all Sub-Saharan African countries, excluding South Africa. The agreement strengthens Kwese Sports' programming line-up, giving exclusive access to over 1 000 UEFA matches free-to-air (FTA) in Africa and non-exclusive rights to broadcast on pay-tv across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Kwese's broadcast rights include live matches, delayed matches, highlights and on-demand programming, as well as localised review programs to UEFA fans across Africa.

In addition to the 2020 Euro Championships, Kwese Sports will also broadcast UEFA's new tournament which pits Europe's top ranking soccer nations against each other in a new league format. The UEFA Nations League, which kicks off in 2018/2019, will add further excitement and competition to country clashes giving football fans across the continent even more reason to stay glued to Kwese screens. The sports broadcaster also has exclusive free-to-air rights to the 2018 FIFA World Cup
Eurosport sells Bundesliga rights to Teleclub in Switzerland
Discovery Networks Germany announced an agreement to sub-licence the German football league broadcast rights to pay-TV provider Teleclub in Switzerland. Discovery's Eurosport acquired the exclusive rights to show the Bundesliga in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and Teleclub will buy an exclusive licence for its home market. As part of the deal, some matches will also be shown on Eurosport.
Teleclub is a joint venture of Cinetrade and Swisscom. No financial details of the agreement were disclosed.
Sky Sports to show womens World Cup cricket tournament
Sky Sports will broadcast all 31 games of the women’s World Cup cricket tournament, including England’s seven group games, live on TV, in partnership with the ICC. The matches will be available on TV or across Sky Sports platforms such as and the mobile and iPad app. The company said it will be the first UK broadcaster to show every game of an ICC Women’s World Cup.

All of England’s group matches from the ICC Women’s World Cup on Sky Sports can also be purchased on Now TV, for GBP 6.99 per game or GBP 10.99 for a Sky Sports week pass.

The 2017 Kia Super League will also broadcast on Sky Sports for the first time this summer. Sky will also broadcast England men’s Test matches against South Africa and the West Indies, as well as the NatWest T20 Blast, Royal London Cup and the County Championship, with commentaries
Skylink extends contract with Discovery Networks, adds TLC
M7 Group, the provider of the Czech and Slovak satellite platform Skylink, has announced the extension of its agreement with Discovery Networks. This means that viewers can continue watching the channels Eurosport 1 HD, Eurosport 2 HD, Discovery Showcase HD, Discovery and Animal Planet. Besides this, the provider is adding the channel TLC to its line-up, replacing Crime&Investigation, as Skylink has not extended its agreement with the channel's broadcaster.

TLC will be part of the packages Smart, Multi, Combi, Multi HD and Complete. It is currently available in the basic package Digital on a promotion basis.
Nc+ runs promotion for seniors aged 75+
Polish satellite platform nc+ has launched a promotion for senior citizens above 75 years old, under which they will get access to HBO for six month for free upon purchase of any TV package, which is now being offered with a 22-percent discount. The packages start at PLN 19.99 a month for Start+ which offers access to 73 channels, of which 30 are in HD. The dearest option costs PLN 77.98 a month and includes 109 channels, of which 52 are in HD
Eutelsat up to 100 Italian channels in HD
Eutelsat has taken advantage of its appearance at the European Digital Forum 2017 in Lucca to announce that it has reached the milestone of 100 Italian High-Definition channels on its Hot Bird video neighbourhood. The figure represents around 30 percent of the 335 channels available in Italian, confirming the increasing transition to HD, said Eutelsat. The company also offers four channels in 4K Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) format at 13 degrees East and recently teamed up with Rai and TivuSat to air the “Stanotte a Venezia” (“Tonight in Venice”) cultural documentary in UHD on the Rai 4K channel.
